One more item, this time about Sarah Palin, from the soon-to-be-released book, Game Change:
The New York Times notes that "in the days leading up to an interview with ABC News' Charlie Gibson, aides were worried with Ms. Palin's grasp of facts. She couldn't explain why North and South Korea were separate nations and she did not know what the Federal Reserve did. She also said she believed Saddam Hussein attacked the United States on Sept. 11, 2001."
So why is she so popular? Why is it that people admire ignorance and lack of knowledge? Sadly, many of her ardent supporters have the same gaps in their understanding and the same gross misconceptions.

I think I need to quit watching the news and reading so much online because more and more it seems as though Sarah, the Teabaggers and other idiots are making inroads into the political scene and having more influence. I truly hope I am wrong about this because I find it all quite worrisome.
Thanks - Winnie
