Some very interesting points

One of the most interesting points Savage brings up, one that I don't believe a lot of people think about, is that gay couples do not (in fact, can not) "accidently" have children. Thus nearly by definition children adopted by gay couples are children the couple wanted. It takes a very well thought out decision for a gay couple to adopt...often (sadly) the same is not true for straight couples. How many "unwanted" pregnancies are there out there?

It's ironic, too, that gay couples can (at least in Florida, where Savage mainly speaks of) foster parent children, but not adopt. Why the double standard?

In fact, why the prohibition at all? All goes back to religion. And it all bears a striking resemblence to the same arguments made against blacks in the Jim Crow era. That should tell you the real motivations of those opposed to gays adopting (or marrying, for that matter).
