"I just congratulated Al Franken on his victory," Coleman said in a press conference with reporters. "I told him it's the best job he'll ever have representing Minnesota in the United States Senate. The Supreme Court has spoken, I will respect its decision, and abide by its results," Coleman also said.
Norm Coleman carried on the hypocritical fight far, far, far longer than Al Gore ever did. Over 6 months from his loss to his concession. And he carried on a costly fight despite being critical of Al Gore's 2000 election battle and despite his initial criticism of a possible court fight by Sen. (Elect) Franken. He only warmed to a court battle when he was on the losing side.
Norm Coleman may have (finally) bowed out graciously today, but he made an embarrassing laughingstock of himself and the GOP since November 2008.
